Where you want to be is only a couple of months away

I finished off a relationship with some extra weight on top and decided that it's time to chase the dream now I have some time to focus. I would like to be in the range of what I'd consider good looking. Being single is a subset of this rationale, but I'd like to like to enjoy the mirror. The journey is nearly all vanity, but if I'm healthier for it then why not? I invented my mantra, as seen in the title.

A couple of years ago I did 2 cross continental trips in Europe and landed from 94kg to 72kg, which is right in the middle of my normal BMI. Since then I'd crept back up to 92.

I packed up my life, moved somewhere without distractions (except for remote work) and focused purely on being more active. 10,000 steps a day, that's it. Run sometimes during the walks. Eat better, but don't necessarily track it. I focused on eating only granola for breakfast and veggies and meat for dinner, no more take out. Eating different and low intensity exercise is the easiest place to start because I don't need to learn anything for this part.

Repeat the mantra.

After 2 weeks I hit my first plateau, so a friend got me into tracking calories and I beat the plateau.

Repeat the mantra.

Then I hit another plateau and found out about refeeding.

I haven't quite finished yet, but I've just broken under 80kg, 12kg since the start of October, and it feels great.

Every time I've tried to loseit I've focused on everything at once and quickly overwhelm myself which is why I resorted to dire cycling measures to lump the weight off which is unsustainable. But breaking down each step of the journey and learning how to handle the next step as I go has been an immense factor in my progress. The main thing was that I just started somewhere, and kept it iterative.

I'm going to iterate down to 72kg by new years hopefully, then start looking at the stuff I really don't understand... Protein shakes and heavy weights.

Repeat the mantra.
