Do people lose weight in chunks? 34 m 285

I've noticed a bunch of posts on various subs where people lose weight in a more or less steady decline but my question is do people also lose weight in chunks often?

I'm talking about losing 10 lbs and staying at a certain weight for a month or two before losing another 10 lbs.

I seem to be currently stuck in a plateau at the moment after dropping 20 lbs followed by a small regain of 5 lbs and another drop of 5 lbs following that plateau. It's been a few more months and I'm not sure that I'm losing much despite eating ~2100 cals a day.
