Today is day 365 since I decided to make a change. I started at 454lbs, diabetes type 2, heart issues, lots of meds… I couldn’t even walk 1/4th of a mile without taking a break.
I figured if I die, I want to at least be easy to move to have less trauma with my kids, so I started logging. I started trying to walk. I don’t alway get my steps in each day, I don’t even stay in my full deficit (like the past couple of weeks, it’s maintenance mode through the holidays).
Today I’m 326, I can walk several miles and still feel good! I’ve started to reduce my diabetes medication Becuase I’ve kept my A1C around 5.3 for half a year.
It’s hard to start, it’s hard to keep going, but it’s worth it. It took 100 days for me to believe I could do it, and another 100 days to feel like I deserve to do it, and now 365 days later… it just feels normal. Normal to log, normal to park far away, normal to eat small portions.
