Okay, bear with me, this is going to be long.
Over the last 5 or 6 years, I've been getting more and more out of breath from every little thing. I want to exercise, but even loading the dishwasher leaves me panting.
I am very overweight, but due to some other things, i was sent to a cardiologist to rule out problems with my heart. After all the tests, my heart is healthy but my lungs are definitely not.
My cardiologist asked if i had ever been on oxygen long term because that can cause damage to the lungs. I've never been on oxygen, however, i was a smoker for about 16 years, but i quit back in 2009 and the breathing issues didn't really start until several years after that.
I have been slowly losing weight with CICO but i desparately miss working out. Mindless cardio, weights, you name it. But i feel like i can't do any of it because it all results in my heart rate skyrocketting, being completely unable to breath, palpitations...
I will follow up with my PCP next week and see about setting a lung specialist but i hate feeling like an invalid at 40.
