I (26f, 5'8", 250lbs) have always told my doctor that I have a hard time losing weight, but she just tells me to eat better and exercise more. Which, to be fair, I really wasn't doing either.
Now for the last two months I've been eating better and going to the gym three times a week (mix of weightlifting with a personal trainer's guidance and cardio) with absolutely no change. I'm able to lift more than before, but I haven't lost a single pound and clothes aren't fitting any differently. I'm trying to be patient but I'm getting a little frustrated. I started 16/8 intermittent fasting this week and I'm hoping that makes a difference. I have a doctor's appointment on the 22nd of this month and if nothing has changed I have a feeling that if I don't have specific questions/tests to ask for I'll get another "just try harder" lecture. Any tips? Research comes up with a wide variety of topics and it's overwhelming.
