I'm almost back to where I started and it's discouraging and disappointing. I started in September 2019 at 138lbs (I'm 5'0"). In December 2020 is was at 117lbs. This was just after I had Covid, so I'm thinking the lack of taste helped get me that low.
Anyway, I didn't stay there for long and hovered around 120lbs soon after, which I was fine with. It was close enough to my original goal. I decided to take an extended maintenance break after being (or trying to be) in a deficit for over a year and work on building some muscle and exercising. Seeing how much body composition on others my same weight changed how they looked inspired me to pay less attention to that goal weight number. My TDEE was so low at that point due to my lack of exercise and high body fat %. I told myself I would get into exercise in 2021.
I gave it several tries but nothing stuck. By the time summer hit, I was nearing the end of a job and super stressed. I pretty much became sedentary again and completely stopped tracking calories. My weight started to climb and I'm now back up to 134lbs.
I know that I shouldn't see this a "starting over" because I'm not starting from nothing. I've learned a lot in the last two years and if I did it once I can do it again. It's just so daunting because I know how long it took me to lose it and it's discouraging to see how easily and quickly it all came back. I'm worried I'll just be in this endless weightloss loop forever.
