I haven't really posted here before but have been a long time subscriber and wanted to post my progress. I'm 5'11 39M currently 158lbs, down from well over 220lbs+ but I honestly wasn't even checking the scale when I was my heaviest so I couldn't say for sure.
This was 2012 when I was probably 220lbs+.
I eventually got a Withing's digital scale and through intermittent fasting was able to get to a healthy BMI but kind of yoyo'd around for a while. Here is my weight history.
In 2019 and then after COVID hit I put on a bit more weight than I was comfortable with and really decided to get serious. This was summer of 2019.
I started intermittent fasting again and doing weighted jump rope using cross rope. Supposedly weighted jump rope burns more calories than running but for me I just enjoy it more than running.
I am doing intermittent fasting M-F using OMAD with lots of vegies and it has really been my secret weapon. I find it is much easier to eat one big meal with a huge salad (using dressing sparingly) has really made it easier.
On the weekends I eat on a more regular schedule but am mindful of my total calorie intake. I also allow for 1 cheat meal a week but don't always use it. Generally on a Sunday there will be some dinner where I tend to indulge a little bit.
Through diet and jump rope I got to here last May and have now mainly trying to eat at maintenance concentrating on getting enough protein and doing calisthenics 4 days a week.
Then here was last month. It's still a work in progress but I'm in no hurry. I am going to start and work on more difficult bodyweight fitness things soon.
I quit the jump rope when it got too hot but really should start doing more just for better health even though I'm where I want to be weight wise.
My weekly workout routine has mostly been pushups twice a week, pullups twice a week, and an ab routine 4 days a week.
I am doing 100 diamond pushups, 100 declined pushups, and 60 parallel bar dips in sets of 20 on my pushup days.
On my pullup days I do 30 L sit pullups and 30 L sit chin-ups in sets of 10.
This is the ab routine I have been doing 4 days a week. Don't be discouraged if you can't get very far, I could hardly do any of it at the start, now I get through level 5 before I burn out.
Check out Jump Rope Dudes on YouTube for good info on weighted jump ropes.
I live in Japan so I don't really have someplace to put a pullup bar so I have been using a BaseBar pullup bar.
