24, 5'7, M, ~147 lbs.
For some several weeks, I've been strictly counting my calories. My TDEE is around 1900 so I've been eating ~1600-1700.
I'm really fat, and I look horrible. I don't want to lift weights right now because I don't want to get big, so I'm avoiding the gym. For weeks on end trying this and not seeing any difference (in fact I'm pretty sure I gained weight, my chest looks bigger and my arms too), I've had enough. So yesterday, I thought about it, and came to this conclusion:
I MUST be eating way more than I should. If my calorie deficit is true, then I should be losing weight. I also realized I don't get that hungry. I eat one meal a day (dinner only), and I don't really get hungry the entire day until it hits around 9pm then I get slightly hungry.
This is what I came up with: If you feel hungry, that's your body's way of telling you "I need food". But I don't feel hungry, so that must mean my body doesn't need food. This is what I realized, and so I decided to only eat when I get hungry, and I'll eat just enough to not feel the hunger.
Thinking about it, I must have been eating huge amounts constantly. I no longer feel hungry. Maybe it's because of my stomach issues with bloating and whatnot but I'm starting to think it's not that, it's just that I'm eating that much more that my body doesn't need more food, so I'm not hungry.
So my plan is this: Eat only when hungry. Some days when I don't feel hungry the whole day, then I don't eat that day. I'm also sticking to one meal a day since that restricts my calorie intake too.
I'm also planning on doing some HIIT exercises at home on a daily. I'm so fat right now I'm pretty sure I have enough fat storage to fuel my body for an indefinite time.
I started yesterday. I was originally going to skip lunch but I was meeting with some people for lunch and so I did eat. I'd say it was ~500-600 calories. I didn't feel hungry that night, so I didn't eat dinner. It's evening now, didn't eat yet, and still don't feel hungry. I'm planning on not eating anything today if I don't feel hungry.
I'm just wondering if what I think about hunger is correct. I mean it makes sense, that just proves I've been overeating the past weeks and there's so much food my body doesn't need more food, right?
Btw, I don't have a specific weight goal. I'm just losing until I'm satisfied with how I look. But if I were to give an estimate number, I'd say around 110-120 lbs?
