i’m a teen trying to lose weight and i’m a bit worried about developing an eating disorder- are there ways to prevent that?

(skip to the end if you don’t wanna read all this)

Hello! i’m 15f, and i’m trying to lose weight, and i’ve started to,ive even lost 10lbs! (although mostly water weight) BUT, i’m scared of getting an eating disorder. i have always struggled with depression and bipolar (diagnosed!!), and those are things that really affect me. so i’m not always in a good mindset. and anything small can upset me and make me either super depressed or angry. i’m just trying to make sure i don’t get an eating disorder since my mental health isn’t the best. obviously this might not happen at all, but i was wondering how i can prevent this? what to look for? ive already been feeling a bit off about this. and that’s why i’m slightly worried. ive been eating usually 1200cals or less most days, i should probably eat about 1500 but eating that much makes me upset. and then some days i’ve eaten 2000-3000 cals, and i will feel like it’s hard to stop eating, but that’s not as often. also, i’m not already underweight or at a normal weight at all. i’m in the higher 200lbs and i’m 5’6. ive been taking abilify (bipolar meds) and it caused me to binge and overeat, and now even though it’s not as bad, i’ve been left with awful eating habits.

BASICALLY; i’m 15 and trying to lose weight, my mental health isn’t the best and i’m aware of it. i’m worried about the chance of an eating disorder; how can i prevent it and what are things to look out for?
