So some context:
My partner and I have opposite issues regarding weight. I need to lose it (F, 5'6, 84kg) and my SO needs to gain a bit (M, 5'8 54kg).
We both have issues with diet. I have terrible cravings that I struggle to keep in check - essentially, I struggle to hold myself accountable and I allow myself to get away with shit all the time which always ends in regret. I have an addiction to hot chocolate and chocolate in general, and McDonald's is a 2 minute walk down the road, so resisting the quater pounders is a struggle. My partner hates eating. He's a gamer and regards eating as a waste of time. He has said multiple times that if he never had to eat again he would be happy or if every food can be in liquid form, he'd prefer that. He is very bony, so much so that his knee caps are visible and I can't rest my head on his chest or shoulders because it hurts him.
We both don't like cooking. I'll do it if I have to and I have more of an idea than my SO, but overall we're both not fans. My SO has absolutely no idea how to cook and trying to teach him is so painful no matter how much I've tried and it usually ends in me getting frustrated because he's either not listening or constantly asking if he's done so he can go back to gaming. I love him, but I hate cooking with him.
With exercise, I want to go to the gym badly. I want to get a PT to help me do the right thing and help me lose this fat. My SO goes to pilates and I want to as well, but I feel like I need something more intensive to help me shed the kgs first. But I'm worried about going to the gym because of COVID. We live in Australia and we've been okay with cases so far. I live in a state that's been relatively unscathed when it comes to cases. We haven't gotten a case that hasn't gone straight into quarantine in months. However, my state is going to open up in two weeks to other states that have heaps ongoing cases, so it's very inevitable that we're going to go into lockdown soon because we'll be getting a shit load of cases like them. I don't want to get a gym membership and have pay for not going because I can't due to COVID. We have a swimming pool in our apartment complex, but it's currently closed until December when summer hits, but there are kids everywhere, so it's likely the pool will be full of screaming children fast.

So my question is, is it possible to lose weight with HelloFresh? I saw a reddit post dated in 2019 asking this question with replies that said that it's too high in calories and most said it didn't help but a few said it did, however it's been 2 years so I'd like more updated opinions. We've been doing Lite n Easy for almost a year now and I'm so sick of it - I am sick of microwave meals and the same shit over and over again. I want to properly cook too which I can do with HelloFresh. Diet is half the battle with losing weight, so I'm hoping HelloFresh can help me do a two birds one stone situation where I can eat good and learn to cook.
EDIT: forgot to add that I also have PCOS which has been linked to my weight gain, but it's a small contributor. My diet is my main issue.
TL;DR: Has HelloFresh worked for anyone regarding losing weight?
** Please be nice in the comments. We know what we're doing wrong and we don't need negativity to discourage us. We really want to make changes, but this is the beginning steps for us and we just need some advice. **
