Adjusting calories

Hello. 47, male, no health issues aside from being 30-40 lbs overweight. I don’t have a desk job, workout three days a week, body weight stuff mostly, and am going to incorporate yoga once I find a decent program. I used to lift weights regularly but my joints don’t care for it much as I get older so I just do basic body weight. I also had to recently drop Brazilian ju jitsu because of joint health. The recovery took too long for my shoulders and my quality of life kinda sucked.

I have been using an app to track my food and I use a scale to weight everything. Ive never been a soda drinker, I only drink 2 cups of black coffee a day and water, I rarely eat out (maybe once a month), rarely drink alcohol and most meals are home made and simple. I used many calculators and fitness gurus formulas on YouTube to get an average of 2050-2200 calories a day as a decent calorie deficit so I set mine to 1900. This is just on the edge of feeling hungry all the time but I’m not tired or feel like I’m starving if my food choices are of decent quality. I’ve been doing this for three and a half weeks. I drink plenty of water each day but quality sleep can be a problem sometimes. I’m not vegan, vegetarian, keto, etc, I just try and eat good quality foods and focus just on calories.

I’ve been weighing myself each week and I’ve lost 1 lb in three and a half weeks. My clothes don’t feel any looser so something is off. I suspected this a week or so ago and made sure I’m not drinking calories, that I’m measuring accurately, etc and I’m still stagnant. I assume I’m doing something wrong so I’m posting to see if anyone has any advice.

My concern is that if I go any lower in calories, it’s gonna be too low. I see a lot of posts about this kind of issue and the comments are usually along the lines of “you’re not really measuring your food”, “you’re doing it wrong”, etc. I’m not claiming to be perfect but I’m pretty confident I’ve dialed in my measurements to where I should at LEAST see more than one lb lost. I know I’m not special and I can’t outdo thermodynamic laws. I’m wondering about my calorie intake. Is it too high in reality? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
