Weight Loss for Everyone: I'm new at this and totally lost.

Saturday, August 6, 2022

I'm new at this and totally lost.

I'm 5'5, 218 pounds, and female. I'm trying to lose weight, and am wondering what a good calorie count would be to do so. I am shooting for around 1400-1500 right now, but really have no idea whether that's good or not. I've heard some people say it's way to low, but there's others who say I absolutely won't lose weight if I stick to that amount.

I walk for about 1-2 hours a day, and am looking to up my exercise and go to the gym. I'm trying to have a good balance of protein, whole grains, veggies, and fruits. People have also told me if I want to lose weight, going to the gym would just make me hungrier and more likely to fall off of my diet. But I know exercising makes me feel good and less anxious/depressed, but yes, it does make me hungrier.

Part of me is just tired of having to think about what to do. I just want something simple that I can just stick to.

Thank you for any help! :)
