I've been on a slow and steady weight loss journey for just over a year now. I was 155 two years ago when I got engaged, I was on the soft side but wasn't worried about it. Bought my wedding dress a year ago and was a little antsy about the way my back and arms looked but decided to roll with it. I had bought into the idea that losing weight on purpose was "bad" and didn't want to admit I was insecure.
When my dress finally arrived I realized I was 177 and it absolutely didn't fit. I started losing weight by getting my (awful) eating habits in check and incorporating exercise I enjoyed. I've been enjoying it more and more and have really come to focus on exercise goals more than just weight loss, I'm working towards running a 5k this year!
Now, a year into my fitness journey I'm 146 (I haven't been this light since my fiance and I met!). I got to go pick my dress up from being altered today, and not only does it fit, I have visible muscle in my back and I feel amazing! I didn't even know my body could look this way or that I would ever feel healthy and strong, I thought I was doomed to be a little chubby forever.
I've been a long term lurker here and I just wanted to say thank you for all your good advice and motivation this past year!
