Some two years ago now, I lost about 40 pounds. Losing that amount of weight gave me an incredible boost in self-confidence, and I couldn’t believe how things changed for me as a result. Walking around every day feeling good about my body was a brand new experience, and the way people responded to that kind of energy was unbelievable. It quite literally changed my world.
Now, I find myself at the same weight I was when I first starting losing that 40 pounds. But the thing is, my confidence hasn’t faltered one bit. And sure enough, people still respond to that energy in amazing ways.
The point I’m hoping to make here is that everything changed for me when I started to love myself and my body. I still want to lose the weight again (and keep it off) for health reasons, but knowing that I don’t have to let my weight dictate how I see myself and how the world sees me is an incredible discovery.
Every victory counts.
