Struggling with irritability and moodiness

I've been in a calorie deficit for about 6 weeks now. I've been losing between 1-2 lbs per week on average. I'm eating healthy and although I do feel hungry sometimes, it seems manageable so far. I'm also working out regularly. I was fairly sedentary before this.

What I'm noticing is lately, I'm feeling irritable with the people around me, and circumstances in my life. More so than I did in the past. One theory is I used food as an emotional crutch and without it, I'm feeling the things I would have buried with food in the past. The other theory is that I am actually experiencing hormone imbalances, or the fatigue and hunger induced by the restricted calories is started to affect my moods more than I'm used to.

Anybody else experience this? Is this normal? Any good coping strategies and ways to mitigate?
