NSV: a previously killer hike was really easy yesterday!

I went on a hike with my husband yesterday. The valley near to us is gorgeous. We've hiked this kinda steep trail 3 times before and every time my lungs have been bursting out of my chest, my legs have got wobbly, a general unbalanced feeling and I've felt weak and faint by the end. The views are so worth it though and I always just made sure to take plenty of rests, have a banana and drink lots of water. Last time we did it was in July/August. Until yesterday!

I flew up the trail. Overtaking everyone we encountered, my husband was even a little out of breath keeping up with me. We had a protein bar halfway but I didn't NEED it like I would've before. We stopped at the beautiful buddhist hermitage near the top, just because it's lovely. And another point where you can see the mountains spread out ahead of you. Again, no desperation to stop, just soaking in the views.

I'm stunned at the change. I did start running again a couple of months ago (5-7Ks a few times a week so far but I took getting here reeeeally slowly) but I honestly think that losing 15kg over the past (almost) 5 months is the biggest contributor.

My eyes are wide open now to the difference giving a bit more love and attention to your body can make. I never want to go back to the out of puff person I was before. I feel so much stronger, happier, steadier on my feet and capable.

There's a different trail up to a mountain (1300m, it's not Everest but it would be my Everest as I've little to no experience hiking before moving to Korea) in the same valley and I want to work towards that now. Onwards and upwards (literally)!
