Help. This is another frustrating “not losing weight despite eating at a deficit and working out” post

I’ve lost weight in the past by watching CICO and lifting weights but I’ve gained weight over the past couple years. Over the last 2 months I’ve been committed to eating smart and hitting the gym again. However, I’m not losing any pounds on the scale. I keep hovering around where I started. Im a guy who weighs 189 lbs that eats about 1500 calories a day and lift weights 5-6 times a week.

I’m pretty confident that I’m tracking calories accurately because I use a scale (and again I’ve done this in the past successfully). I know a lot of people say that your body could just be retaining water due to the spike in working out, but even after 2 months? My only other theory is that am I maybe eating too few calories? My TDEE calculated is 2500 and I’m eating ~1500 a day.

Am I missing anything? Any other theories?
