Getting past the fear of Muscle loss

I’ve wanted to cut down on body fat for years and until recently a big part of me not losing as much as I’d like (despite being quite active)was having the idea of healthy and non healthy foods, but over indulging in the healthy foods so the calories were still a surplus. Since really getting serious and realizing that calories are the biggest problems for me (which also still pushes me to eat healthier and less calorie dense food), I still have this feeling deep down that I’m worried about losing muscle/strength. I know that once you have a level of muscle strength it’s easier to bounce back but it still makes me nervous.

How do y’all get past it?
