Calorie-counting has changed my life and is very easy

I swear, calorie-counting is the most logical and scientific way of losing your weight. I used to be 100kg/220lbs and I am at 86kg/189lbs now.

I can still enjoy my food, still go to McDonald's but without any sides like fries and coke, just order a normal burger with diet coke and that's more than enough.

The steps are:

  1. Find your TDEE aka maintenence calories (exercise level as sedentary even if you exercise)

  2. If it's something like 2,200 calories then deduct 500-750 (1,600 calories in case of a 600 calorie deficit)

  3. Start exercising to burn extra calories so that your deficit goes up to around a 1,000 calories

  4. You will lose more than 1kg/2.2lbs a week (1kg means 7,700 calories, so it means a deficit of around 7k a week)

  5. Install MyFitnessPal or HealthifyMe and log your calories

  6. Buy a cheap food scale on Amazon with an LED on the counter and measure your food, use the zero-out aka tare function to make measuring easier

  7. Buy low-calorie substitutes like cashew milk, low-calorie bread, etc.

I have lost 14kg/31 lbs till now and this is the most scientific way.
