How should I start my journey? I’m a 22F 174cm CW:73.6kg GW:62.4kg

Sorry for my grammar, English is not my first language.

I’ve been debating a lot on whether to post here and actually ask for help, but figured it’s worth a shot.

As the title says I’m a 22F and although I know I’m not obese, I can’t remember the last time I felt comfortable in my body (and the whole lockdown definitely didn’t help). I decided I needed to do something about it because it was turning into some real sneaky body dysmorphia. I started with therapy —odd choice to change my physique, I know.

But it weirdly helped in that I realized I’m I really have to do better by my own body. Hence, I’ve started cutting on my binge snacking, adding some walks, and over all stopping doing the things that made me feel “ugh” afterwards. It’s definitely a work in progress, but I’m doing what I can to cut out my horrible habits and change them into good ones.

Whilst this has stopped my weight gain, I’ve decided I want to take it a step further and turn my body into one I’m comfortable with (that goes according to my genetics lol, those unrealistic standards from social media can really do a number on one’s expectations huh).

This is where I’m quite stuck.

I’ve been seeing different diets, lifestyles, etc. and there’s so much to choose from and so much information. So it’s a bit overwhelming. Therefore I just wanted to ask about you guy’s experiences. What you would recommend, what it entails, etc. I’m a college student and will admit my life is quite sedentary, although working towards changing that. Also, food in my culture is BIG, like any person who hosts a meal will tell me to eat more and more and later say hey you look fat should stop eating so much- (it sounds better in my language I swear). But food is about bonding here. And we definitely tend to cook not very healthy food. And diabetes runs in my family, as in both my parents and my maternal grandparents have it at least. So I’ve been turning my head to keto, although wondering how sustainable it actually is.

So anyways, if you’ve read this far thank you so much. I really just want any kind of info or even your stories about where you started.

Thank you!
