How to get over the 'whats the point' mindset

I've lost 40lbs despite doctors telling me for years I should never expect to lose anything at all. I have to be very regimented and deliberate with my diet and it's incredibly slow going with lots of setbacks. Another 40lbs and I'll be out of the obese category but it seems like it'll never happen and feels so pointless anyway. My health hasn't changed, I still look the same, still a grown woman who gets trolled by teenaged shits at the pool... I recently got to a point where I feel ready to date seriously and thought about online dating but I can't stand to look at pictures of myself to set it up. Everyone says don't put life on hold blah blah but idk how to get past it. More than one person in my life has straight up said they're doing me a favor by being my friend and that thought keeps sneaking in. Just not sure how anyone with such an obvious flaw lives a regular good life without being consumed by it. I guess I'm looking for 2 things from people- how do you live without weight as the #1 aspect of your life dictating the everyday and how do you keep at it when even losing weight doesn't seem to help anything?
