Chinese food for weeks = unreal weight gain

Hi everyone, I work with chinese people and during the lunch break I school their daughter. The last couple months they cooked lunch for me, and of course it was chinese food, which I appreciate.

Now, the last couple weeks featured abundant lunches, but I hit the gym kinda regularly and I always have light dinners.

The point is...I got from 61-62 kg to 66-67 kg in less than two months.

What caused this? Is it cumulated water retention? (I drink less than twl liters of water per day on average) If so, will I lose the water weight a few days after I stop eating there? (The schooling is nearly over).

Meanwhile, I started hitting cardio harder.
