How do I know what my daily intake should be?

Hi, question for calorie deficits. I am 5”4 and 260 pound female. How many calories do I eat per day?

I am new to calorie tracking. I don’t know how many calories I should eat per day.

A decade ago I did Jenny Craig and was eating 1200 calories a day but felt weak and HANGRY all the time - I didn’t exercise AT ALL because I had no energy but the weight dropped from 190 to 145 in about 8 months.

I maintained for a couple years around my happy place of 160.

2018 I was pregnant and went up to 230 lbs. I floated around 200-210 afterwards until the pandemic hit, and I had an autoimmune disease randomly kick in and a bunch of steroids, and stress eating has landed me to my current 260 pounds!

My disease is under control now but I need to get this weight off. I can’t be a mother with how I felt on Jenny Craig at 1200 calories a day so I don’t know what my intake needs to be. How do we figure that out?

I am 5 foot 4 inches, 260 pounds and ultimately I want to live the rest of my life at 160. My first goal is to get to 200 pounds.

Is there some sort of math equation to figure out how many calories I can eat and not feel hangry but still be in a deficit?
