Hi, I was referred here from r/EatCheapAndHealthy. Looking for what I need to do to lose ~30lbs.

I'm male, 38, and work a job in retail where I'm on my feet all day and cover 9-10k steps in a given day. I've been starting to educate myself on re-portioning and to stop overeating, and I started with a 500cal deficit from a sedentary lifestyle. So I lost ~8-10 pounds quick and now it's slowed, it would seem to be water weight mostly.

So now I want to do this safe, and healthy. Based on my BMR, my maintenance cals are 2333 with a BMR of 1945. So like, I guess how do I know when to go from maintenance to cutting? I don't have a steel goal in mind, though noom suggested I could hit my 200lb weight goal by April? Not gonna pay for a membership plan or anything though, so I'm here to soak this in and learn so I can lose the weight and diet safely myself.
