My father, 54 years old, probably 5'7 or 5'8, he is 256 pounds and he is trying to lose weight. However, due to his work conditions and past medical issues, his legs are incredibly swollen. His mother and uncle have/had swollen legs, his uncle's feet were incredibly swollen, to the point where it was frustrating to look at, almost that of a balloon. Going back to my father, his legs are swollen, black veins coursing, black and blue, pink, he is constantly in pain. My father has been trying to cut down his calories, cut his carbs, stop eating at night. I told him if you want to lose weight, you need to put in the physical work. However, I just think he or rather his legs cannot handle the physical strain required. He has thought of surgery many times, but I don't want it for A, the surrounding issues that would revolve from it, and it's a pretty penny, but I don't think he should at all. He likes to swim, just where I am situated there isn't really a gym where he can visit for a monthly cost with a gym. Does anyone have any ideas how one should go about this?
