Losing Weight with Severe Food Aversions

sorry if this has been asked before — i’m new here but i searched the sub and didn’t find what i was looking for.

anyway, i’ve decided that i need to lose weight. i’m 27F, 5’2”, and at last count 215lbs/97kgs. my goal weight is about 145lbs/65kgs.

i have other issues preventing me from losing weight including:

  • cerebral palsy

  • hypothyroidism

  • an overly large chest that makes movement/daily life difficult (i have a consultation with a surgeon for this next month)

but my biggest problem is that i have severe food aversions. every time i google “best foods to lose weight” nearly every item on all of the lists makes me visibly gag. my diet has been getting steadily worse and is very restricted right now. it’s all foods that i know are unhealthy but anything else makes me feel ill just thinking about.

i don’t know what to do anymore and i’m on the verge of giving up and admitting defeat. is there anything i can do?
