I'm trying to lose fat weight while gaining muscle mass and strength. Is a caloric deficit the right thing to do for this?
I have cut back around 500 calories for the deficit and work out doing stuff on my multi-gym. I have 2 protein shakes, 1 for breakfast and one after I workout. I try to have a few fruit daily and no high calorie drinks, basically I try to be healthy.
The problem is, I thought you are meant to have more calories for building muscle mass? If I don't burn enough calories I will put fat weight on again though, and I don't know how to measure my calories burnt.
