Do I need to be consistent with the exercises I do or with how often I exercise?

I live in Australia where we’ve been in and out of lockdown for the last six months and I need to get into an exercise routine.

I’m trying to do thirty minutes of exercise before work each day. And I’m wondering is it okay to do whatever type of exercise / workout I like each day or should I stick to a routine each morning while I build consistency. Right now I’m just worried about working out five days a week before work. And building my routine from that.

What is best to stay consistent for someone who hasn’t worked out much for the entire year of 2021 - doing whatever exercise I like or sticking to a routine (eg, legs on Monday, arms on Tuesday’s, etc)
