Up again. TW: BED, self- sabotage

I started CICO about three weeks ago and I did great for the first two weeks, counting calories and packing my lunches in advance after weighing everything out. I felt better and saw results on the scale as well as results in my general health, such as my bloating going down and just feeling more energetic.

Last week on Sunday, I went to the beach with my boyfriend and his family, and I didn’t worry about calories because I wanted to enjoy the day. Cue a week-long bender of me eating way too much every day, some days in excess of 800 extra calories. I had been skipping breakfast as a part of my journey but I have had to wake up at 430a every day this week and felt I needed to eat something in the morning besides coffee in order to not feel sick. I ran out of groceries and went out to eat a lot, and at least three nights this week consisted of me being in the kitchen late at night, stuffing my face with whatever garbage I could get my hands on. On top of this, I was so tired this week that I didn’t work out at all and spent most of my time feeling sick and heavy from my food choices.

I weighed in today at 229.0, still down from my highest but higher than the 226.4 I was a week and a half ago. I am slowly realizing that, much like an addict, I just cannot control myself when I am around certain foods. If I do not limit myself then I will not find success, and so I need to learn to live without my favorite things in order to get to a healthy weight and live a healthy lifestyle. Giving these things up is a small price to pay now when my future could consist of heart failure and diabetes.

Thanks for reading. Any advice on how you handled BED or general overeating, especially when you work a job with an early start?
