Starting over by kicking my soda habit

25/f, 200lbs at 5'2. Weight struggles have plagued me since childhood. I have lose weight before. Now I am realizing it is more about my health and not my looks. I am starting by tackling one bad habit at a time.

My main one is soda. Oh my God. I have had so much soda my entire life even as a small child. I do believe drinking my calories is the biggest contributor to me being obese.

For those who also suffer with soda addiction, did you find using water additives like Mio have helped you? I have a hard time tackling this with plain water only at first. I tend to backslide that way. Would it be okay to do it this way and then switch to plain water as time progresses?
