Salad usually means that boring lettuce stuff, but lately I have been experimenting with different kinds of salads.
Three bean salad, Greek salad, Mexican street corn salad, Pea Salad.
Delicious and a range of refreshing flavors. It also helps with a new thing I am trying, volume eating. I use to count my calories and try to keep flavors interesting, but I would always end up feeling hungry (or not full) and cheating. Volume eating is eating as much as you want of certain foods like eggs and veggies. The idea being you feel so full on these foods that you don't actually eat that many calories. These salads I can eat as much as I want for days and still not gain any weight. It's freeing when I don't want to worry about portions and is a healthy cheat day in a way. Even a weekend of diet breaking was reigned in by these salads and helped me feel back on track. Next week I am trying a beet and feta salad.
