Calorie deficit = plateau?

Hello, Reddit! New here. I’ve lost about 80 pounds in about 20 months. For the last three months I’ve been stuck.

I’ve tracked my food, I run a 5k 3-4 days a week and have recently started doing a 10k once a week. I’m definitely on a deficit. I’m a 5’11” almost 34 year old female.

This week I’ve been super motivated, but my VO2 max is down during my workouts from 40 to 39.3, and I weighed myself one day early and despite DEFINITELY being on a deficit FOR SURE I’m up 5 pounds. I had finally seen the scales move the last two weeks and that 5 pounds came off, but here it is again like a bad house guest, all within a week. Current weight this morning was 200.2 when I had been weighing between 194 and 196 all the previous week.

I’m worried, at this point. Is my metabolism effed? I eat around 1500-1700 calories a day on average. Exercise is almost always running, but I have a spin bike and use that sometimes too, or will do some body weight or functional strength stuff occasionally.

I just want to get down to a healthy weight, and it’s within reach for the first time in more than a decade. I’ve worked so hard to get here, and I’m so frustrated and worried. I have a doctor appointment next month, but until then, what can I do?
