Hey friends,
I went to the doctor today for my first physical since the pandemic started and I weighed in at 259 (I'm F/5'6/36) Highest recorded weight yet.
I asked to be referred to a weight management program, and as my BMI is 41.8 (you need a BMI of 40 to qualify) she referred me to the bariatric program (through Kaiser, if anyone is wondering)
This was a real wake-up call for me. Honestly, I'd like to try and do this on my own. I've dieted most of my life and usually lose about 7-10 pounds before my motivation wanes and I just end up gaining them back again (and then some). I'm tired of being this big and maybe this will finally be the kick in the rear that gets me going and start looking at this as a lifestyle change, not just a diet.
Anyone else consider WLS but ultimately choose to stick to CICO/exercise? I'd love to hear from you.
