My goal is to lose between 30 and 40lbs overall, and this month I started again seriously. CICO, gym 3x a week and IF. Today I weighed myself after two weeks off the scale and I was thrilled at the result.
I wanted to make a post though, not necessarily to celebrate too early because I still have a way to go but I wanted to share something that I think will be helpful.
Out of this month I had, at least 3 days, maybe even 4, where I drank alcohol and seriously went over my calories for the day. They were spaced out through the month, but at least two were consecutive. The next day when I tried to estimate the calorie damage I felt ashamed and thought I'd destroyed the progress I'd made for the month.
This has happened before and I'd fall off the wagon for weeks and plan to "start again" at some point in the future. But not this time, after the help of this sub, I'd just immediately brush myself off and carry on with my calorie deficit.
I was worried about weighing myself today, knowing I had a few mishaps this month, but it really shows that what matters is just sticking to it as much as you can in the long term. If you screw up for the day, it's okay, just get straight back on it the next day. You will see the results :)
