Day 1 - A tale of three weddings...

Today my little sister got engaged - and I'm thrilled. I'm setting this day down in my calendar though - the wedding date is not yet set, but I'm determined to achieve my weightloss goals by it.

In 2014 - I got married, and while it was a wonderful day and I felt amazing in my dress, I was definitely at a size and weight larger than I would have liked. In the years since my progress towards goals has only gone backwards.

This year - in June, my little brother got married (it was actually a delayed Covid wedding). I was MC and nervous about being up in front of everyone on a mic, so I took extra care in my appearance. The wedding was fabulous and I had a great time - but when I look back at the photos I'm devastated by any time I'm in one.

I recently did the lose it challenge completely for the first time, and lost 11 pounds. I think I've finally worked out what works for me (fasting, heavy lifting before HIIT cardio, and limiting alcohol, carbs and dairy), and I'm hoping that my progress will be sustained if I stick with this.

So my stats are in my flair - my current scale goal is losing 50lbs which is the weight I was a decade ago (when I was trying to be even slimmer).

I don't want my goals to be aesthetic, but that's truly where my motivatations lie. So this is Day 1 - of this goal, I don't yet know what I'll be wearing to this future wedding, or how my hair would be - but I am going to get to the point physically where I will love how I look both on the day and in photos.
