Advice for beginning strength training?

F22, SW246 CW230 GW140 here looking for advice for beginners looking to get into strength training. For the last month and a half, I’ve been working out every day - mainly cardio (45-60 minutes of indoor bike or elliptical) and around 30 minutes of yoga. As I move into the 20-pounds-lost territory I want to start strength training to build muscle and reduce loose skin. Does anyone have any advice on how to safely start? I have resistance bands and 5-10 lb weights, but nothing too advanced. Does yoga build muscle? I literally have no idea how this works. Do I need to up my calories from a deficit in order to build muscle? Not looking to get swole, but looking to not lose muscle along with fat. Any insights much appreciated!
