Let’s settle this: Stairs or no stairs?

I am obese right now, obviously trying to lose weight. I am trying to walk thirty minutes a day while also controlling my diet. I have access to ten floors of stairs and was wondering if I should add that to my daily workout, but I’ve heard that it can cause quite a bit of strain to the knees, especially for overweight people. So. Should I add stairs or not? Please add sources if you have them because I’ve come across so many articles with opposing answers. Thank you.
