Having trouble with no obsessing over weight loss

Any time I (23F) start a diet, I have issues with becoming too obsessed with them. I feel the need to weigh myself any time I’m in the bathroom. I get extremely meticulous about what I eat and try to stick to 1200 calories and get stuck on calculating my time to my goal.

I really want to lose weight (50lbs) in a healthy way but every time I get to obsessed with the process and people around me will tell me to let up a little and when I’m no longer being extremely obsessive I fall off my diet. Anyone else ever experienced this?
