Oblique and lower back pain?

So I’ve been walking 10,000 steps average a day and eating at a 500 calorie deficit (not counting calories burned while walking). I’ve been doing a fairly high protein diet but not cutting out carbs or fat entirely. I eat 70% whole foods (fresh produce, lean protein, etc) and the processed food I eat are low calorie protein bars and fiber bars.

Recently I’ve been noticing a significant change in how my posture feels. It feels like some of my excess back fat is fading so I can stand more up right and not slouched. This is all great but I’m experiencing some minor pain in my love handles and lower back where I’m losing the most weight.

Does losing weight cause aches? Is it that I’m building some type of muscle in those areas? I’m literally laying in bed right now with a heating pad on my lower back.
