Gaining weight after starting to track my eating and exercising more regularly

I started watching what I eat last Saturday (one week). Tracking everything that I put in my mouth, drinking more water, and exercising more regularly. But since then my weight has only gone up. I started at 187 lbs and it went down for a few days now I’m at 191 lbs.

My daily budget is 1400 calories, down from the 2000+ calories I was consuming daily, not drinking water, and mostly sedentary.

I haven’t been perfect, some days I go a little over the budget but overall last week I was only over by 830 calories. It doesn’t make sense that I would have added 6 lbs from my lowest point by being over by 830 calories, right???

Anyway, I need some motivation and perspective. And help understanding what I’m doing wrong??? I’m not secretly snacking and not logging.
