Advice - Gained 12lbs Randomly - Yet, My Body Is the Same.

So, I'm a 27 year old male. I'm 6'3ish, roughly - wide frame.

I feel like my body hates me. In 2012, I was about 225lbs and I worked my rear off to lose weight and I got down to about 162lbs.

Since then, I've been between 167lbs-174lbs, roughly - in the 8 years since.

Anyway, I thankfully didn't gain any weight during the lockdowns last year, thankfully.

Yet, in the last few months, despite no changes in my eating, I went from 170lbs to 182lbs. I'm at the highest weight I've been since 2012. I'm terrified I'm back on my way to 225lbs and 'this is where it starts to creep back on'.

So, I gained 11lbs or maybe 12lbs. Yet, my waist is the same size, my arms are the same size, my belly is the same size, etc. My face looks the same. All my clothes feel like the same as they always have. (I know all my measurements because my friend uses me to help model men's clothes she makes for cosplay)

I don't get it.

My only hope is my legs. They've always been pretty solid because I walk a lot.

But I moved apartments by myself a month and a half ago - and I was doing a lot of lifting, walking, up and down stairs. My calves are like steel, now. They're more solid and shaped than they've ever been after my move and my thighs feel more solid than they've ever been before.

Did I gain muscle in my legs, causing this sudden gain? Or is my body just...weird and I gained a lot of fat and my body just is good at hiding it?

I just want to get back to my 'happy place' of 167-171.

PS - Even a weekend of bad eating can make me gain 10lbs that takes a long time to come off. I hate it.
