Many of you can probably relate to this.
I work an office job (in technology) that I tend to sit a lot during and spend a lot of energy on. This year I’ve been practicing being disciplined and balanced. This means that understanding that while my work is important it is not the top pedestal to my life and I need to find that balance with my mental and physical health.
Today (well, the last week) has been stressful. We are testing a product and have a deadline and are getting more bad news as the days get closer to the deadline. Just got off the phone that testing went poorly yet again today... ugh. I know that means I’ll be barraged with questions later. I’m 22 and at times this stuff makes me feel 45.
I want to go home and order Hawaiian food and just feast and scroll youtube. But, I had my apple snack, tonight I’ll go home and have pork and veggies for dinner and do my leg HIIT workout.
This week I’ve had to make that more conscious decision that I will NOT binge and I will NOT emotionally eat crap just because my surroundings are stressful.
I have been doing good with this lately and feel proud but for anyone out there that deals with this, just know that you and your health > work and you can do this!!
