Hes lost 45 pounds in the last 6 months through dieting and recently bought bow flex eliptical and resistance training machchines to get even more fit. Currently he's 63 years old, 5'10, 200 pounds and on the same blood pressure meds he's had since he weighed 245 pounds. Recently he's been really going hard on the eliptical. When doing cardio, he pushes himself to the point where hes really out of breath when he stops. I'm really proud but also worried because he's been getting blood pressure readings lower than 90/60. He has 50-60bpm resting heart rate but refuses to go see a doctor about his blood pressure meds. He says tried and stopped taking his meds and his blood pressure went back up to over 140 so he went back on. I'm sure he's pushing himself over his target heart rate and he doesn't listen when I tell him he should go easier on his body. He did martial arts when he was in his 20s and ever since has had the biggest ego about how fit he was/still is. I feel he's pushing his heart harder than a 63 year old man should. What do you think?
