I started this lifestyle change the day after New Year's Day, calorie counting, cutting down massively on alcohol and going to the gym.
A month and a week later I weighed myself and I had lost 12lbs, and could see a difference to my before and after pictures. I was over the moon! Finally I stuck to it and could see results.
I went on holiday with my friends for roughly a week and a half to a few Asian countries, we did a lot of walking but it was impossible to calorie count. Initially I tried to turn down certain foods and stuck to my diet where I could, but I thought screw it, I'm on holiday and this cost a lot. But I noticed even through choice I still ate less and more healthy options.
The plan was to weigh myself when home and carry on. I got a bit off track as my boss told me I couldn't come into work for three weeks incase I have coronavirus. So the stress of having no money got me down and I spent the first week back over eating and drinking, and not really doing anything else.
This is a new week and as of yesterday I have been calorie counting again. I even had the courage to weigh myself and I've only put on 1lb, I'm so relieved!! Unfortunately I can't afford to renew my gym membership for the time being so this morning I started Couch to 5k. Exercise never needs to cost money.
This journey is different from my previous attempts, because it's long term. I accept screw ups happen, and for a bit longer than planned, but it's all part of the journey and you have to own up to it and get yourself back on track as soon as you can.
