I bought myself an exercise bike out of Amazon in first week of January after receiving a Fitbit for Christmas. I didn't expect much cause I hate cardio and after buying a treadmill last year and not using it, I kinda just hoped its different this time.
Turned out it is! It's been two glorious months of biking 3-4 days a week, nothing dramatic either, just 20min a day, sometimes in small portions of ten minutes. I've always been intimidated by long workouts as I get bored very easily, so it was important to not put pressure on myself to do an hour each time I get on a bike.
I NEVER thought I'd enjoy biking. I've tried latino dancing, swimming, volleyball, the gym, weights, pole dancing, running and, well, the only thing I've found I've been enjoying everytime is, as it turns out, biking. I just put a film on and get on with it.
And oh boy, the changes!!
The very first time, on speed 1, I raised my heartbeat to 140s cardio levels (based on Fitbit) in under two minutes. Speed 2 was hard af. Then I slowly moved to speed 2 when speed 1 got easier.
Fast forward to today - I need to be on speed 5 (out of 8) to even begin to reach my cardio levels, my heart just takes it so much easier. My resting heart rate went from 80 to 67-69 :)
Next goal is to make it a longer workout. Slowly, but surely! My weight hasn't changed, but I feel better. Had no-one to share it with so I hope its okay I tell you guys.
