I’m 27, 5ft3, 102lbs. Was naturally skinny for as long as I can remember and started gaining tummy fat when I was around 20. I read that doing ab exercises won’t actually reduce belly fat, because that’s only achievable by eating less and taking in fewer calories. So few months back I started cutting back on my food intake pretty drastically.
My typical day looks something like this: skip breakfast and drink a cup of coffee or a glass of soda. At around 2pm, eat 2 slices of a sandwich of some sort. This is basically my proper meal for the day. At night, around 8pm, eat a snack that has a decent amount of calories (candy bar, some biscuits or if I feel healthy, maybe a slice of toast with smashed avo). After that, a glass of juice or soda and then go to bed.
I’ve lost 12lbs (now I’m down to 102lbs) since starting this 4 months ago, but I still have the watery-looking tummy fat - my midriff just looks totally soft. My ribs and collar bones are a lot more visible and my arms and legs are definitely smaller. Just the stomach that refuses to budge.
The thing is, I legit feel like I’m starving. My stomach rumbles all day and hunger pains start spiking by lunchtime. I take hours to fall asleep because I’m so hungry and by the morning (I have to be on my way to work at about 6am) my stomach is aching really badly. I have a headache nearly every day. I can’t exercise because I have zero energy - I want to collapse after doing 2 mins of cardio.
Do I really need to eat even less to get rid of this belly fat? I’ve tried skipping the evening snack, but I couldn’t get through the night - my stomach hurt too severely for me to sleep. I’m trying to think of some way I could pull that off and cope with the pain, but I’m out of ideas.
