Waaaait a minute put the pitchforks away and hear me out...
The first week will be amazing. The junk food will all be in the landfill with the empty champagne bottles and you'll be feeling like a brand new person eager to get after your goals. Things will be firing on all cylinders and you'll get a secret hope and belief that THIS time will be THE time.
Then it'll happen
Maybe you'll be a little to hungry grocery shopping and the sweets are displayed in all their glory (like they will be until the end of time). Maybe the donuts were looking just a little too good on the break room table. You will eat them and they'll taste better than they ever have if you've been following a keto or low carb diet.
You lost but how? How did you lose? This was THE time you were going all the way. Is there something wrong with you? Were other people just born with motivation in their genes? Why can't you do this when other people seemingly do it effortlessly every day?
Take a deep breath. We've all been there. Every one you see has lost especially the most successful people you know.
The only thing you lost was today. No one can take your victory yesterday away from you and no one is handing you a loss for tomorrow.
Rewire your brain to accept that. "I just lost today I didn't lose everything" you'll win more often than you'll lose.
