I have a very up and down relationship with food. 5 years ago, after my second daughter was born, I lost 40 pounds, which brought me to a comfortable weight. In the years since I've had another pregnancy/baby and now I'm struggling to keep any of the weight off (no more excuses there, the little one is 2). I'm within 15 pounds of my "never again" weight and I'm feeling so defeated. I feel like I've done everything - MyFitnessPal, weight watchers (very little success), swapped apps over to LoseIt, tried and failed intermittent fasting (I just would binge during my window), did a couple of whole 30s (I did lose weight during these but gained it back very quickly)...
Ugh. I'm just down. Got on the scale today and I'm up 7 pounds in 2 weeks (ok, yes, some of that is water and my period but COME ON THAT'S RIDICULOUS)
In 2019 I ran 2 5ks, an 8k, a 15k, and 2 half marathons (not quickly, but I finish). I am in decent cardiovascular shape, and I'm fortunate for that. Running regularly helps keep my weight steady but as soon as I have a break (my last run was late November) the weight piles on.
I know it comes down to eating too many calories. And not exercising. And stress (plentiful the last 2 months). But why can't my body just work? Why can't my stomach just tell me when to stop eating like a normal person????
So here we go. XMas Eve will probably be a bit of a bust with the extended family, but other than that I guess I'm on the wagon again. No sense in waiting until New Year's, right?
