10 months. 74 pounds lost. Heading into 2020 as a completely different person!

comparison photo

I was looking for a specific photo earlier today and found this photo of me from earlier this year. I had just gotten home from dance class and was trying on a bathing suit top that had come in the mail that I was hoping would accommodate my chest while being modest. When I saw that photo I couldn’t believe that that was me. I have gone from 216 pounds (likely more than that before I got the courage to step on a scale) to 142 pounds since January (I’m 5’10 and a bit). I didn’t take measurement at the beginning of my journey but I know that in March of this year (after already losing some) my waist measured at 36.5 inches. My waist now measures 26 inches. I used to wear size XXL or XL and a 14 in pants. Now I wear size S and a 2 or 4 in pants. I definitely don’t picture myself as someone who wears smalls but I also can’t remember looking that way. It’s a weird thing!

My current battle is with maintenance. Do any of you have any tips? I have not counted calories at any point in my journey but I’m thinking I may have to. Part of my issue is the fear of gaining weight back by increasing my food intake when I already feel like I eat so much (appprox 2,000 calories a day) But I am extremely active so maybe that’s why!

Anyways, just felt like sharing. This community has been incredible :)
