I've had two pretty substantial weight loss periods this year, one for about a month in May, and then a month in August.
I lost just under 20lb in May, then went on vacation, got off my plan, and didn't get back on it. One day turned into two, to three, to five to a week to a month, and....almost all the 20lb gained back.
Got back on it in August, did better than before. Was tracking everything, exercising, lost over 20lb and at the beginning of september I decided to give myself a few days off, and that turned into the entire month. It's a f***ing gift that I only gained 5lb back.
I like the idea of being really strict for 4 weeks or so, and then taking a little break, but the break cannot involve food related rewards. It may be cool to take a few days off the exercise routine, figure out what the next 3-4 weeks will involve, adjust diet etc, but for quite some time I simply cannot dabble with food.
